Nature calls

Visitors to Townsend Park in North San Jose find a lot of amenities at the eight-acre oasis, including tennis courts, playgrounds and picnic tables. Still, they say there's one major thing missing: bathrooms.

So if nature calls, kids and seniors must dash off to their homes, cars or the nearest tree. Sometimes they don't make it.

"She didn't tell me that she had to go until the last minute," said Jini Patel, who lives nearby, of her 5-year-old daughter, Sheena. "By then, it was too late."
